Finding your Toyota chassis number
Toyota chassis codes are typically 4–6 characters (for example ZRE142 for a Corolla or GGH30 for a Vellfire), followed by a serial after the dash. Find the full number on the export/deregistration certificate, stamped on the firewall under the bonnet, and on the driver's door-jamb plate.

What to check on a Toyota
- Hybrids (Prius, Aqua): confirm the generation code (ZVW30 vs ZVW50) and check the interior grade for high-mileage taxi use.
- Minivans (Vellfire, Alphard): inspect the sliding-door panels on the damage map — common contact points.
- Land Cruiser / Hilux: verify against the sheet for off-road wear and underbody corrosion (S/C symbols).
